Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives at Williams College
Director
Amy Johns is the director of the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives at Williams College where she works to make the college’s daily operations more sustainable while providing educational opportunities for on-campus communities and off-campus colleagues.  After more than fifteen years in the sustainability sector, she knows deeply that environmental sustainability and social justice cannot be separated and that the path to a sustainable future has to be interdisciplinary and holistic. She explores a wide range of tools and perspectives, including environmental psychology, organizational change and systems analysis - and has learned over time to speak fluent finance and economics, though they’re not her first language.

She has a BA in biology from Williams College and an MBA through Green Mountain College.  She lives in Vermont with her husband, son, cat, six chickens and several thousand honey bees (give or take).
